The 18th Annual Bailando International Dance Festival will be held October 5 - 7, 2017. Texas A&M University’s School of Arts, Media and Communication is partnering with Concert Ballet and will be hosting the weekend on the TAMUCC campus. Master classes will take place in Island Hall and all three evenings of dance will be in the Performing Arts Center. We are looking forward to an amazing weekend of challenging dance workshops and top notch performances.

Master Classes will be offered Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Classes will be offered in a variety of dance styles from teachers and professionals from across the North and Central American continents. The Master Class Schedule will be available later this summer!

Techs will be running from Wednesday, October 4 through Saturday, October 7.  This year's schedule will be available here on Wednesday, September 20.
The Gala Concert will be Saturday, October 7th and will be the culmination of our Bailando International Dance Festival weekend. The concert will include those companies and studios whose pieces are invited to perform based on superior critiques from the panel of judges. There will also be performances by the host companies, C.C. Concert Ballet and TAMUCC Island Dance Company, as well as this year's Guest Artists, Ad Deum Dance Company, Ballet Austin, and NobleMotion Dance Company.
A Directors’ Reception will be held before the Gala Concert on Saturday evening for all Directors, Choreographers, Master Class Teachers and Adjudicators. The reception is a time to meet and greet one another, to share stories, ideas, support and encouragement in the area of the performing arts. We need a time to share and listen to our colleagues. Please come!
Below is a school excuse letter for students to receive an excused absence to take the Master Classes on Thursday & Friday. Students must be passing all of their classes in order to be excused. Bailando International Dance Festival and C.C. Concert Ballet are in compliance with the Texas Education Agency for the requirements of the Pass/Fail Regulation for extra-curricular activities that are school related and also in compliance with the Physical Education Middle School Objective and the Dance TEKS for high school students.
Every dancer, choreographer, and director will need to fill out a Media Release Form below. Please print and bring with you when you check in for registration.
Videos of your performance will be available on either a DVD or an MP4 file. Please fill out an order form with a check made payable to CC Concert Ballet for $30, along with your media preference. All proceeds go to the Bailando International Dance Festival. You can order yours before or during the festival weekend.

All dance companies and studios are required to register online and receive wristbands for the event. Wristbands or Director/Choreographer name bades will be required to enter Master Classes and for entrance to the backstage area of the Performing Arts Center. Tuition and fees are due by August 31, but we will collect payment for drop-in Master Classes as long as they are still open at the time of registration. Concert tickets will be on sale at the PAC for all performances. Registration packets will be available for pick up at the PAC on Thursday, October 5th or Island Hall that Friday and Saturday.
Below you will find criteria for choreographers in which the adjudicators will be critiquing. Please take into consideration, the adjudicators are evaluating the work of the choreographer, not the dancers.
Two adjudication concerts will be held at Bailando - one on Thursday evening and another Friday evening, October 5 and 6. Each dance piece participating in the adjudication process will perform on either Thursday or Friday evening. After the concert, a panel of judges will critique the choreography of each piece and then decide which pieces will be invited to perform in the Gala Concert on Saturday evening. Those pieces who do not want to be adjudicated will be given the opportunity to showcase their work on Thursday or Friday evening, but will not have the opportunity to perform in the Gala on Saturday evening. You may choose which evening, Thursday or Friday, works best for your group, but we cannot guarantee your preferred choice.
The Light Cue Sheet you will need to fill out the for the performance will be emailed one month prior to festival week. All Light Cue Sheets and music files are due by Friday, September 15, 2017. If you have questions please let us know and we will be happy to assist you.
