Born & raised in Corpus Christi, TX, Sara Vara Busti (TCRG) began dancing with the Inishfree School of Irish Dance at the age of 10, under the instruction of World Champion Neill Reagan (ADCRG). She quickly fell in love with the art form, and by the time she turned 14, she had reached a Championship competitive level, and was a teaching assistant at Inishfree. At that point, the local Irish dance school began a series of mergers which granted Sara the rare opportunity of training and instructing under several schools and instructors at the same time. Throughout her career, Sara was blessed to train with several National & World Champions, as well as choreographers and lead dancers from international performances such as Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, Magic of the Dance, and Feet of Flames. In high school, she spent her summers training in Georgia and New York, and competing internationally. During this time, she went on to become the State Champion of both Louisiana and Oklahoma, and the first dancer from South Texas to qualify and compete at both Nationals and All-Irelands. After college and having her first child, Sara returned to the competitive stage and was given the opportunity to begin taking over her hometown school. While teaching and learning to run a school of her own, Sara reached her goal of becoming a World Qualifier and competing in Ireland. In 2015, Sara was finally able to establish the Corpus Christi school under her own name and christened the it the Gildea School of Irish Dance - after her Irish family roots. Sara remains the only Irish dance instructor in South Texas to be certified by Ireland’s An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelecha, and has already trained both National & World Qualifying dancers. .
